Washington Street Alley

Back to Past Projects Real Estate Main Page

This was a project I conceptualized with a group of young professionals in Greensboro in an effort to showcase to building owners that had left buildings in the downtown area in disrepair and dormant for a long time how they could use the alley to boost the financial viability of investing in their properties.

Darn Good Places: Real Estate-Washington Street Alley

Sketch of a street scene showing a grocery store and a bookshop with people walking, some pointing, bicycles parked outside, trees lining the sidewalk, and an entry through an existing building.
A map of a shopping area showing the locations of various businesses along two streets, Green Street and Washington Street, with parking lots and pathways.

Main purpose of the project was to activate the alley that ran parallel to the main street in Downtown (S Elm St) so all microshops would be accessed from the alley and range in size up to 500 SF

Proposed entrance from S Elm St in Downtown Greensboro. Concept came from an alley coffee shop in Cincinnati, Ohio

Pedestrian alleyway with outdoor seating, people walking, bicycles, and signs indicating restaurants, with the caption about access from Grene Street toward the alley and shops.
