Public Transit

Back to What we do: Cities

After moving back to Greensboro in 2012 following time in larger more walkable and transit forward cities, I participated in some public transit advocacy through the Transit Alliance of the Piedmont. We had a hashtag #trustthebus. One of our initiatives was the 5 mile challenge. Encouraging people one day a year (at least) to ride 5 miles on the public bus and document it on social media, take friends and coworkers to lunch with them on the bus etc. The mindset was just to break that mental barrier of getting on the bus for the first time and realizing its not that scary or difficult.
